Artur Muharremi should be seen as the Albanian painter of nudes. His paintings on this subject belong to the most beautiful ones. His creations stimulate the imagination of the spectators by introducing them to a world of dreams and mysteries.According to the art schoolar Moikom Zeqo,Artur Muharremi through his painting,has effectively “created an anthropological world of his very own mental visions and structures.” Zeqo further considers Muharremi “a prominent artist who sits at the center of the Albanian art sphere, right next to the most ambitious national talents.”
In 1991, Artur Muharremi opened his first exhibition in the Albanian National Gallery of Arts. The artworks he presented there were characterized by a metaphysical environment and an emptiness that reflected the political and social situation of Albania of that time. Soon,because of unstable social and political situation in Albania he moved to Greece.There,he was hired as moviemaker for the animated films for a private TV studio.Yet not longer after that,his heart led him to paintings and he opened his own atelier in Athens.
In 2003 he returned again in Albania where he opened his third individual exhibition in the National Gallery of Arts.
A few years later he met Mr.Mezuraj the initiator of the first private museum in Albania. Artur Muharremi signed a contract with Mr.Mezuraj and he worked with him from 2005 to 2008 where he created almost 360 paintings for Mezuraj museum.
In 2009,Artur Muharremi decided to move to Paris,France and he opened his own personal exhibition at “Arcima Galerie d’Art” and two others personal exhebitions at “Arttouch Gallery”.
Throughout the years Artur Muharremi has opened many exhibitions all around Paris until he finally reopened his own atelier in 2015 at Honfleur,France where he currently lives.
Over the years, Artur Muharremi has won dozens of awards all over the world, such as in Italy, France and the USA and has almost thirty.

Artur Muharremi was born in Pogradec,Albania,the 2nd of June 1958.He graduated the Academy of Fine Arts of Tirana while being under the supervision of distinguished artists such as Prof.Agim Zajmi, Prof.Guri Madhi, Prof.Zef Shoshi etc.
Artur Muharremi is one of the most important contemporary painter. He started to create before the political changes leading Albania to democracy took place. With his well known painting 'Before Creation' (1989), Artur Muharremi was one of those very few artists, who shook off and warned the Albanian society of nineties against the crisis that was going to break.

With his painting “Before Creation” Artur Muharremi won the first prize in the National Competition of Fine Arts.He completed university studies of scenography and contributed actively and significantly as a painter and producer for the development transformation and qualitative amelioration of the animated film.
The social changes that had started on the beginning of nineties have found him as one of the most outstanding personalities of Albanian animated film and as one of the most promising painters of the new generation.
