I was inspired by the sight of a rusty iron plate leaning against an old wooden shed. The contrast of colors fascinated and touched me in a very special way throughout all seasons. Whether it was the fresh green in spring, the rich yellow in summer, the different shades of brown in autumn, or the white in winter that was never just white – every time it seemed as if the colors of the surroundings danced with the rusty plate and eventually merged. After many failed attempts, I finally managed to oxidize and fix the plates in my garden in such a way that I could paint on them. From the very beginning, I experimented. The initially very precise and detail-loving style of painting gave way to a rougher technique executed with a lot of paint. In many of my paintings, you can find traditional and primal elements.

I want to keep these moments from days gone by in memory. The love for nature and the land of Tyrol is palpable in my painting. Sometimes I manage to capture a very special moment with the colors and pause time for a brief instant. If, when looking at one of my paintings, someone feels something, recalls a beautiful moment, or is prompted to reflect, that is the greatest gift for me. With my paintings, I invite you on a journey into the past.
